me to you

"From Me to You" is a song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released by The Beatles as a single in 1963. The single was one of the Beatles first number anywhere on the charts in the UK, second in others, but not to make an impact in the United States at the time of the first version. However, a cover of 1963 published by Del Shannon resulted in the song was the first song Lennon-McCartney to U.S. pop chart to enter. It was one of the last songs that are credited to "McCartney-Lennon", shortly after, his songs began to appear in favor of "Lennon-McCartney".

Lennon and McCartney began writing "From Me to You", while on a bus on the road to Shrewsbury as part of the Beatles tour with Helen Shapiro. The title is inspired by the name of the letters section of the New Musical Express, who had read: "From you to us" [1] McCartney said that the first songs tend to be the words "I", "I also take. "or" you "in them, as a way to make" very directly and personally. "[2]

In his 1980 Playboy interview, Lennon recalled writing the song:

McCartney also spoke of the reorganization of the song in 1964:
